International Coffee Partners was founded in April 2001 as a joint initiative of the coffee roasting companies: Luigi Lavazza S.p.A. (Italy), Löfbergs Lila AB (Sweden), Gustav Paulig Ltd. (Finland), Tchibo GmbH (Germany) and the foundation Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung (Germany). Additional support comes from the roasters Kjeldsberg Kaffebrenneri AS (Norway) and Peter Larsens Kaffe A/S (Denmark).
ICP promotes sustainable coffee production in developing countries and understands sustainability to be a dynamic concept that achieves economic viability while enhancing social conditions as well as protecting the environment and natural resources.
All projects supported and funded by ICP are realized as Public Private Partnerships in close cooperation with international development organisations as well as local partners to achieve maximum impact for the farmer families. Current beneficiaries are smallholder farmer organisations in Guatemala, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Peru, Cameroon and Uganda.
